[fusion_text]I recently road-tripped to Steamboat Springs for one more day on the slopes with some friends on what happened to be the actual last day of the season. It was a sloppy mess like that snow cone you tried to eat before it melted but got a brain freeze. Even on the slush it was still a great time and we were able to work up quite an appetite.
As you can imagine, for me, the answer to most hunger pangs starts with beer even at resort prices. When I fought to the front of a beastly line I was happy to see something other than Heineken and Dales Pale Ale and quickly snatched up a tall can of Butcherknife Brewing Company‘s Hefeweizen. The Hefeweizen paired well with the music of the Wailers and really capped off a great season.
Since we all agreed that it was a pretty solid Hef we promptly stopped by the brewery and enjoyed their other wares the following day. I would have to say my favorite was their blonde ale but my friends both liked a grapefruit beer they had just put on. If you are in Steamboat, I recommend checking them out. Even if you can’t make it to the actual brewery, they are on tap many places around Steamboat and have a couple beers for sale in some stylish tall cans.[/fusion_text]

About the “A Sam About Town” series:
Your inside look at some of Colorado’s best nouns (people, places and things) according to one unimportant brewer who happens to like doing things.[/tagline_box][/one_full]
